| Description: |
Usually a liane up to 15 m high or more; stems, hairless, 4-angled and green when young, often forming tendrilous loops; older stems wine-red to brown with elongated whitish lenticels. Leaves ovate, oblong or elliptic, mostly 6-12 cm long, dark green, paler below, hairless, margin glandular crenate-dentate or almost entire; petiole 5-14 mm long; stipules triangular, less than 1 mm long, deciduous. Flowers c. 3-15 in lax axillary inflorescences; pedicels 3-7 mm long. Sepals broadly ovate-triangular to almost circular, c. 1 mm long, dark green to yellow-green with paler, toothed margins. Petals oblong-spathulate to oblanceolate, 4-6 mm long, Dark green to yellow-green with paler margins; stamens 3. |
