Capitula in scorpioid cymes ( = corymbs), ellipsoid, ca. 15 x 8 mm, homogenous, disc florets 10 - 12 mm long, 5 - merous. Stigma 5-branched, well-exerted. Pappus prominent, white, straight, about 10 mm long. Involucral bract 4-6-whorled, lanceolate-ovate, green, foliaceous with white, arachnoid pubescence. Growing in forest island on termite mound.

Herb; Notes: All annual herb, in moist conditions between reeds. Ethnobotanical Voucher Specimen: Mozweze (Lozi) - indication of good soil to plant mealies, infused in water and given to cows to increase milk production.

Sepals 4, fused, green, 2 mm long, persistent. Fruit 2-lobed berry with clear constriction between the two, each lobe globose, 6 mm in diameter, green, glabrous, smooth, fleshy.

Creeper; Notes: Creeping on black soil. Only one plant seen. Tiny yellow flowers, round fruits: green when immature and orange/red when ripe. Fruits often in clusters. Leave rhombic shape, hard to the touch.

Hydrophyte; Notes: Waterlily growing in Lake Liambezi. Flowers yellow.

Leaves opposite, simple; petiole short, 2 - 3 mm long, sturdy, dense, pubescent; stipule interpetiolar, narrowly lanceolate, 80 - 115 x 35 - 60 mm, apex acute, occasionally rounded, base cuneate, margin entire, ciliate, adaxially dark green, pubescent to glabrate, abaxially olive green with dark green venation, extremely dense hispidellous indumentum. Fruit globose, axillary, normally solitary, hard, apically scarred, 1.5 - 2 cm in diameter. In Terminalia woodland.
