The collection of this specimen is the first record of the species for Zambia

Twining herb; rare; in Mavunda thickets on Kalahari sands; stems brown-green; leaves green; flowers white with green spiky bracts.

Occasional; in both wet and dry sites; scrambling; young herbaceous stems red; inflorescence bracts spiny and light green.

Early woody; spreading on ground; woody stems brown to black; bracts light green with purple; in bud only; corolla white (?).

Shrub, 15 cm. Stems light green, tinted brown towards base, with white hairs; leaves dark green above, light underneath; inflorescence bracts light green.

Herb, 40 cm, erect from woody base. Leaves with prominent midvein below. Plant rough, hairy. Flowering bracts with bristles. Flower buds cream-yellow. Among rocks.

Herb +-12cm tall, single stem, leaf covered; leaves: trifoliate, grey-green, hair covered, thick stalk +- length of leaflets; leaflets: compact, thick, stalkless, +-1cm long, +-7times width, widest near tip, curving to pointed tip and narrow base. Flowers growing from axils and top of plant, outside bud and petals orange covered with with white hairs, standard pale yellow with red-orange marks near base, keel yellow tip upwards.

Dwarf annual herb, haircovered, leaves trifoliate, leaflet margins curved up forming miniature toboggan runs. Flowers pale yellow, red marks at base of standard.
Locally common

Clumps of hair covered plants creeping along ground. Flowers in clusters of hair covered dark burgundy-brown calyces, pale yellow with burgundy stripes.

Herb 0.3 m tall; flowers white with purple markings. Growing in closed woodland in light shade on a plain. In well-drained loam. Occasional.
