| Description: |
Somewhat fleshy, aromatic perennial herb 30-100 cm high, rarely taller when scrambling and supported. Stems quadrangular, often purplish, prostrate or scrambling, set with purplish, spreading hairs and glands. Leaves fleshy, spreading, triangular-ovate, 15-75 mm long, with numerous sessile glands beneath; margin coarsely crenate-serrate, weakly rolled under, sometimes purplish; petiole 10-30 mm long. Inflorescence lax usually purplish, with 6-12-flowered whorls up to 30 mm apart; pedicels 3-6 mm long. Calyx 3-4 mm long with purple hairs and red sessile glands. Corolla pale blue to mauve, often with dark purple markings, 8-16 mm long; lobes with purplish hairs and red sessile glands. lower lip boat-shaped, 6-12 mm long, longer than upper lip. |
